The National Progression Award (NPA) in Horticulture will provide you with the opportunity to develop the basic practical skills necessary to work in the Horticulture industry.
This course is delivered in our purpose-built Horticulture Centre at our Langside Campus.
Qualification Breakdown
National Progression Award in Horticulture – SCQF Level 4.
You will cover:
• Allotment gardening
• Plant propagation
• Soft landscaping.
Entry requirements
You should have:
• a genuine interest in horticulture
• National 4 English and Maths.
Target Year Group S5 or S6.
Attendance Pattern
You will attend college on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 13:30 – 16:00.
Progression Pathways
You could progress to:
• NQ Introduction to Horticulture with Landscaping Skills – Level 4
• NQ Introduction to Horticulture with Gardening Skills – Level 4
• NC Horticulture with Horticultural Therapy – Level 5
• NC Landscape Design and Construction - Level 5
• Employment opportunities after training such as, landscaper, gardener, botanist or arborist.
The level you might enter would depend on the level and relevance of your other qualifications.
