Course Structure

This is a 4.0 credit course at SCQF level 4 and comprising of 4 Units at 1.0 credit each. All course units are mandatory to achieve group award although each unit can be taken as a standalone unit. This is a national course and is assessed internally.

 Course units

  • Automotive Skills for Work: The Garage                                 1.0 credit
  • Automotive Skills for Work: The Car                                      1.0 credit
  • Automotive Skills for Work: The Technician                            1.0 credit
  • Automotive Skills for Work: The Vehicle Modification Project   1.0 credit

Entry requirements

You should be working at the senior phase of the curriculum and have clear interest in the subject area. Taster sessions or interviews may be carried out.

Attendance Pattern

Tuesday and Thursday afternoons (13:30 – 16:00)

Progression Pathways

Candidates may progress to City and Guilds Level 1 Certificate and Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance (4290-11) SCQF Level 4 or apprenticeship in the automotive sector.
