You can now apply for student funding online. Here is a video to show you how to activate your funding application.
Further Education (Non-Advanced) Courses
It is important you make sure that your finances are arranged before starting your course.
Students can access a number of funds depending upon their age and status. We will provide confidential, impartial advice and help on funding matters. The student funding you access will depend upon the course you choose but the most common funding sources are:
- Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA)
Funding is not guaranteed and requires each applicant to provide the required evidence to support the application. All funding allocations are based upon your personal circumstances.
Once you have been made an offer of a place on a full-time Further Education course, you will be sent an activation email to allow you to apply for your Bursary/EMA funding online.
Applications will be available from April onwards. Funds are limited and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. All funds are discretionary and awards are not guaranteed.
Full details of the Bursary Policy is available from the Scottish Funding Council.

Higher National (HN) Courses
Students on Higher Education programmes should apply to SAAS for support. Financial assistance is available for your tuition fees and you can also access loan and bursary to assist towards your living costs.
Students with dependent children can apply for assistance towards registered childcare. Support is available for both Further Education and Higher Education students and covers timetable classes only. Applications should be made as soon as you have received an offer of a place on a course.

If, during the course of your studies, you encounter financial issues, you may be eligible for some additional support or help with your housing costs. Assessments are made on the individual merits of the application.
