Esports continues to evolve as one of the fastest-growing sectors in digital entertainment, with the UK market projected to reach over £340 million by 2030, growing at a 24.3% annual growth rate.
This National Progression Award (NPA) in Esports provides foundational knowledge and practical skills across several key areas.
You will explore the history and structure of the esports industry, examine various roles and career pathways, and develop skills in game performance and analysis.
The course also covers event organisation and promotion, as well as live broadcasting and digital media, offering a comprehensive introduction to the esports ecosystem.
In 2024, Glasgow Clyde College invested £40,000 to upgrade its Esports Suite at the Cardonald Campus, creating a state-of-the-art learning environment tailored to the needs of aspiring esports professionals. The facility now features high-spec gaming PCs, a dedicated commentary booth, a redesigned ergonomic layout, industry-standard peripherals such as Stream Decks and racing cockpits, and a custom-built retro arcade machine.
