Scheduled courses are full until end of April 2024. Please get in touch for availability thereafter. Bespoke courses are available for cohorts of 4+

'ENQUIRE NOW' for more details.

The College has recently received accreditation for Carbon Monoxide/ Dioxide Atmosphere and Appliance Testing (CMDDA1)

What will I learn?

  • CCN1 (Core Gas Safety):
  • Gas pipework
  • Gas supply
  • Combustion
  • Appliance gas safety devices and gas controls
  • Chimney standards
  • Ventilation requirements
  • Emergency procedures
  • Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998
  • CPA1

Appliances available:

  • Boilers (CENWAT)

  • Cookers (CKR1)

  • Fires (HTR1)

  • Dudted Air Heaters/Warm Air (DAH)

  • Meters

  • Carbon Monoxide/ Dioxide Atmosphere and Appliance Testing (CMDDA1)

Existing Gas Safe Registered operatives who hold a current CCN1 can undertake  appliances stand-alone to extend their range of certificates or if expiry dates differ.

REMEMBER: Don’t let your ACS certifications expire as you will not be registered under the Gas Safe Register and carrying out any gas work without being registered is illegal.

Also, during busy periods assessment processing can take a number of weeks depending on the volume of pending assessments (both in College and at the certification body). For these reasons, we advise delegates to book onto a course in a reasonable and realistic timeframe in accordance with their expiration date.

Course fee includes training (where requested), assessments, registration, certification, training pack and course materials. Costs are based on individual requirements, with various packages available.

There is a maximum capacity for this course and places are allocated on a first-come first served basis. Delegates are allocated their assessment dates at the time of booking. Delivery varies subject to capacity, requirements and demand.

Entry requirements (minimum)

  • Foundation Gas certificate
  • Expired ACOPS/ACS qualifications
  • Current ACS qualifications
  • City & Guilds gas qualification

Preparatory training is not a pre-requisite for assessment however the College provides the opportunity for candidates to undertake training prior to assessment.

Reassessment can be completed up to six months before the expiry date and candidates must have held the CCN1 previously.

If certifcation has expired by 12 months or more the initial assessment must be retaken.

Jobs and further study

After successful completion of this course, candidates can progress onto core gas appliances also on offer at Glasgow Clyde College.
