Dance Skills for Teachers (SCQF Level 7) is designed specifically for secondary PE teachers who would like to develop their confidence and expertise in dance. The course will equip you with the practical skills, choreographic knowledge and theoretical understanding needed to teach two dance genres and support pupils working towards SQA qualifications, including the NPA in Dance and National 5 Dance.
What will I learn?
Over the year long Dance Skills for Teachers (SCQF Level 7) course, you will complete five SCQF Level 7 units, building a strong foundation in dance teaching and learning.
If you wish to continue your professional development, you can complete a further five units at SCQF Level 8, enhancing your skills and knowledge even further. This flexible programme allows you to develop at your own pace while gaining valuable qualifications to support dance provision within your school.

- Jazz dance
- Choreographic skills
The course is taught in the award-winning Dance Studio Scotland, based in the fantastic purpose-built facility at Glasgow Clyde College's Anniesland Campus.
Entry requirements (minimum)
- You must hold GTCS registration if you wish to teach dance in schools
- Group interview / info session
- Previous dance experience is advantageous
- Excellent fitness levels
- Learning gained from other qualifications will be recognised.
