This NQ Landscape Design and Construction course provides instruction in the skills and knowledge required for a career in landscaping. It covers a range of subjects including hard and soft landscaping plus planning and design. It is intended to prepare you for self-employment or employment in the landscaping industry and for progression to higher education. The course is delivered in purpose-built classrooms, workshops and glasshouses, providing an exceptional learning environment to study landscape design and construction.
What will I learn?
NQ Landscape Design and Construction course delivery is through both practical and theoretical study and you should be prepared for a degree of classroom study.

Entry requirements (minimum)
- Minimum of three passes at National 4 or equivalent, to include numeracy and English; OR
- An appropriate Level 4 qualification, for example, NQ Introduction to Landscape Design and Greenkeeping
- A reasonable level of fitness is also desirable.
- You should be aged 16 or over

Making an application
For courses starting in August, you can make up to two applications.
Applications are made to a course and a first choice of campus. If the course is oversubscribed at your first choice you will be automatically considered for alternative sites and may be made an offer without a further application.

You will receive an automated email confirming that we have received your application. Please remember to check your junk / SPAM folder if you think you haven't heard from us.
You will be informed of the outcome by email within 10 days.
The outcomes are:
- Unconditional offer: you have met all of the entry criteria and your place is guaranteed
- Conditional offer: your place is secured pending you meeting the Entry requirements, this may mean achieving school or college qualifications which you may not be able to provide at the time of application
- Waiting list: you may have met all of the entry criteria however the course is full. If any places become available you may be contacted – usually around the start date of the course
- Unsuccessful: you have not met the entry criteria for this course.
The Student Advice Centre can be contacted to discuss alternative options if you are unsuccessful.
Once an offer is received you must reply within 14 days or risk losing your place.
Once you have accepted your offer, you will be sent further information, for example, Student Funding, Joining Instructions and Induction Date.
You will be invited to our open day where you can meet with the staff and existing students, you will also be given a tour of the campus.
