This course is ideal for learners who have completed Japanese Advanced Level 1, have equivalent knowledge, or are returning to Japanese study after a break. Using Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture – Elementary 2 Materials , you will develop your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, expand your vocabulary and grammar knowledge, and build confidence communicating in a variety of everyday situations. The course follows a task-based approach, enabling students to use Japanese confidently and appropriately in familiar real-life situations.
What will I learn?
You will continue to build your Japanese language skills through the introduction of new vocabulary, grammar and kanji, while previously learned vocabulary, grammar and kanji are regularly reviewed and reinforced.
Learners should be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions, and communicate in routine situations requiring a simple exchange of information
Learners should be able to read and write hiragana, katakana, and a basic range of kanji.
Understand and produce spoken and written Japanese at the A2 level of the JF standard for Japanese Language education. Learners will be able to comprehend short conversations and simple written texts, and write short messages, emails, and personal descriptions using appropriate vocabulary, grammar, and kanji at the A2 level.
Demonstrate an understanding of Japanese culture and intercultural communication. Learners will be able to recognise and respond appropriately to common social conventions, customs, and cultural practices in Japan, and communicate respectfully and appropriately in a range of everyday contexts.
This course is designed to strengthen your existing knowledge and support continued study.
Students will be required to purchase a Japanese textbook before attending the course.
