Discover the exciting world of printmaking on this hands-on 8-week course, where you'll explore four different printmaking techniques: Linocut, Gelli Printing, Etching, and Mono printing.
Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to expand your creative practice, the course offers the flexibility to work in your own style. Create prints inspired by landscapes, still life, nature, or personal themes, or explore colour, texture, shape, and pattern through abstract design.
What will I learn?
You'll spend two weeks working with each method, giving you plenty of time to experiment, develop your skills, and gain confidence using a variety of tools, materials, and processes. Along the way, you'll learn how to prepare and register prints, use equipment safely, and understand the unique qualities of each printmaking technique
- 4 print methods: Linocut, Etching, Gelli and basic Mono-print
- Methods & Theory: Colour Theory, Composition, Print Registration Methods, Subtractive & Additive Print, Stencils
- Mediums: Water-based, Oil based, Acrylic
- You may be asked to do a small task for preparation for the following week.
With guidance from an experienced lecturer, you'll be encouraged to develop your own creative voice while building a portfolio of original handmade prints.
