Industry success! Former students have gone on to become successful stylists and
designers, working for Alexander McQueen, Versace, Coach, Stella McCartney, Barrie Knitwear, Transcal, Johnstones of Elgin, ACS Clothing and Outlander while others now design for international retailers like Dune, Shuh, H&M Trespass and Under Armour.
The department has impressive alumni. For over 40 years, our dedicated and experienced staff have helped shape the careers of many leading fashion talents including Kyle Spires (Calvin Klein), Charlotte Helyar (Design Director Coach) and Katie Roberts Wood (own label available at Dover Street Market) to name a few.
Industry and employer links
You'll benefit from the School of Fashion and Textiles at Glasgow Clyde College's strong links with industry. Our students regularly work on innovative and challenging live projects. Recent collaborations include Bute Fabrics, Harris Tweed, Knockando Woolmill, Beggs of Scotland, Forty Clothing, Turnberry Rug Works, Anna Campbell Jones, Gilda and Pearl, tbco, Opus Couture, Kestin Hare and Oxfam.

UKFT
We are one of the only educational partners in Scotland within UKFT.
UKFT is the voice of UK fashion and textiles and is committed to creating the best environment for our industry. They represent the entire fashion and textile supply chain, promoting the fashion and textile industry in the UK and overseas.
They demonstrate the strategic and economic value of our vibrant industry to government and policymakers, ensuring the key issues are on the agenda. They champion our diverse and valuable industry through campaigns and key activities.
The key UK trade associations and organisations in fashion and textiles are Federated Members of UKFT, uniting the sector on common issues.

Trades House of Glasgow
We work closely with the Trades House of Glasgow and the affiliated Incorporations through the annual Craftex Awards and educational partnerships with the Incorporation of Weavers, Incorporation of Cordiners, Incorporation of Tailors and the Incorporation of Dyers and Bonnetmakers. Students benefit annually through sponsorship and awards.

Further study opportunities
You'll have the chance to progress on to universities and art schools across the country, including Glasgow School of Art, Robert Gordon University, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Edinburgh College of Art as well as the University of Strathclyde for 3rd year entry to the BSc (Hons) Education and Curricular Studies with Teaching Qualification in Home Economics .
We also send students throughout the UK to De Montfort, University of the Arts London, Edinburgh Napier University, Central St Martins, Manchester Metropolitan University, Loughborough University, Nottingham Trent University, Buckingham Chilterns, London College of Fashion, UAL Wimbledon, Middlesex, Kingston and Ravensbourne.

Articulation Route
We have an articulation agreement in place with Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen which enables HND Fashion Design and Manufacture and HND Fashion Textiles students to progress directly to 3rd year of BA (Hons) Fashion and Textile Design.
Associate Programme
We work closely with Heriot-Watt University to deliver Associate places for students in Textiles, Fashion Design, Fashion Communications and Fashion Technology.
We are now in our tenth year of this Associate partnership, and we have seen the numbers grow due to the success and hard work of the partner institutes and the students that have been part of the programme.

Each programme of study is directly linked to a year 3 pathway at Heriot-Watt University. You will be dual enrolled at both institutes and will be based at our Cardonald Campus for the first two years of your course and will follow an HND programme focusing on your chosen discipline. At the end of year 2, on successful completion of your course, you will transfer to Heriot-Watt University, Scottish Borders Campus, to complete years 3 and 4 of an Honours degree, where you will continue to study in your chosen discipline.

- BA (Hons) Fashion Design
- BSc (Hons) Fashion Branding and Promotion
