Glasgow Clyde College offers you a range of full-time and part-time fashion and textiles courses, from NC to HND and associate Degree level.  We are the only Scottish institution to deliver HND Fashion Design and HND Fashion Technology.

Graduates of the School of Fashion and Textiles at Glasgow Clyde College have gone on to have successful careers in the fashion and textiles industry.

The department has an impressive alumni. For over 30 years, our dedicated and experienced staff have helped shape the careers of many leading fashion talents including Tammy Kane (Business partner Christopher Kane), Kyle Spires (Calvin Klein), Rachel Eustace (Designer H&M), Marianne Callaghan (Designer Top Man), Charlotte Helyar (Print Designer Stella McCartney), Katie Roberts Wood (own label available at Dover Street Market), Katie Fairfull (Weave Designer for Transcal) and Shivani Lal (fashion editor Luxor Magazine) to name a few. 

Industry and employer links

You'll benefit from the School of Fashion and Textiles at Glasgow Clyde College's strong links with industry. Our students regularly work on innovative and challenging live projects. Recent collaborations include Bute Fabrics, Voyage Decoration, Beggs of Scotland, Forty Clothing, Turnberry Rugs, Pollok House, Kestin Hare and Oxfam.

The School also works closely with partners to deliver in-house textile training, including Modern Apprenticeships as well as leading on the Future Textiles programme delivered at Dumfries House.

You'll have the chance to progress on to universities and art schools across the country, including Glasgow School of Art, Robert Gordon University, Duncan of Jordanston College of Art and Edinburgh College of Art.

We also send students throughout the UK to De Montfort, University of the Arts London, University of Brighton, Manchester Metropolitan, Colchester Institute, Edinburgh Napier University, Central St Martins, Ulster, Northumbria, Manchester Metropolitan University, Loughborough University, Nottingham Trent University, Buckingham Chilterns, Cumbria, London College of Fashion, UAL Wimbledon, Middlesex, Kingston and Ravensbourne.  

Associate Programme

We work closely with Heriot-Watt University to deliver Associate places for students in Textiles, Fashion Design, Fashion Communications and Fashion Technology.

We are now in our fifth year of this Associate partnership and we have seen the numbers grow due to the success and hard work of the partner institutes and the students that have been part of the programme.

Each programme of study is directly linked into a year 3 pathway at Heriot-Watt University. You will be dual enrolled at both institutes and will be based at the Cardonald Campus of Glasgow Clyde College for the first two years of your course and will follow an HND programme focusing on your chosen discipline. At the end of year 2, on successful completition of your course, you will transfer to Heriot-Watt University, Scottish Borders Campus, to complete year 3 and 4 of your Hons degree, where you will continue to study in your chosen discipline.

We now have Associate places within the following programmes of study.

Design Academy

You can study a range of part-time art, design, fashion and textiles courses in Glasgow, at Glasgow Clyde College's prestigious Design Academy.

Desingn AcademyWhether you're looking to build your art and design portfolio, learn life drawing skills, or are interested in developing your fashion design, millinery or textiles skills, we have a course for you.

These part-time courses are available during the daytime, with some running in evenings and on Saturdays.
