TV Advert and Marketing Campaign Privacy Notice

Glasgow Clyde College takes its data protection responsibilities seriously. The purpose of this Privacy Notice is to inform you of how we will process your personal information, setting out our responsibilities and obligations as a Data Controller.

The Controller for your information is Glasgow Clyde College, 690 Mosspark Road, Glasgow, G52 3AY, registered with the ICO, registration number Z7497735.

Our Data Protection Officer (DPO) is Mairead Wood, mwood@glasgowclyde.ac.uk.

All your personal information will be treated in accordance with data protection law.

 

The College will use your personal data for the following purpose(s): 
We will use your photographs, video recordings, images, name and/or details about you for the purpose of promoting the College, both internally and externally. This could be using a variety of print and digital media, including but not limited to social media, billboards, posters, film, banners, e-marketing, websites, press adverts. This will be made publicly available. The data being used does not include special category (sensitive) data.

 

Our lawful basis for using your information is/are:

  • necessary for the performance of a contract between you and the College
  • Legitimate interests of the College, where an LIA has been completed to demonstrate these interests do not override your interests or rights.

 

If you were to withhold the personal information we require for this process, the consequences would be:

You would be unable to enter a contract with the College to take part in our TV advert and marketing campaign.

 

Your data will be shared with the following recipients or categories of recipient:

The College has a contract with Makalu to record, produce and market our campaign. This means they will process your photographs, video recordings, images, name and/or details about you. This information will also be made public as part of our TV advert and marketing campaign through various channels.

International transfers

Digital media may potentially be viewed online by any member of the public worldwide. Some overseas countries, such as the United States, may not provide the same level of protection to the rights of individuals as UK data protection law provides.

 

Your data will be kept for the following length of time:  
Published images will be kept permanently in an archive to serve as a record of college life and may appear in future commemorative materials or events. Please note that published materials already in the public domain may be outside our control and we may not be able to recall or delete these. 

Your rights 

Under data protection law, you have legal rights in relation to your information, including: 

  • your right to be informed of how your data is being processed, (as in this privacy notice);
  • your right to access and obtain a copy of your data on request, often referred to as a subject access request; 
  • your right to ask an organisation to change incorrect or incomplete data; 
  • your right to ask an organisation to delete or stop processing your data under certain circumstances; 
  • your right to object to the processing of your data under certain circumstances; 
  • your right to data portability and in relation to automated decision making and profiling.
