This part-time commercial training course provides industry recognised certification for gas operatives to work under the Gas Safe Register. Both initial and reassessments are available. For over 40 years, Glasgow Clyde College has provided training that has improved the skills and knowledge of hundreds of gas operatives. This course is supported by GMI.
There is a maximum capacity for this course and places are allocated on a first come first served basis. Due to student:assessor ratio delegates will be allocated their assessment dates at time of booking. Delivery varies subject to capacity, requirements and demand.

REMEMBER: Don’t let your ACS certifications expire as you will not be registered under the Gas Safe Register and carrying out any gas work without being registered is illegal. Also, during busy periods assessment processing can take a number of weeks depending on the volume of pending assessments (both in College and at certification body). For these reasons we advise delegates book onto a course in an reasonable and realistic timeframe in accordance with their expiration date.
Course fee includes training (where requested), assessments, registration, certification, training pack and course materials. Costings and packages based on individual requirements.
There are various funding options you or your company may be eligible for - specific criteria applies:

Entry requirements (minimum)
- Foundation Gas certificate
- Expired ACOPS/ACS qualifications
- Current ACS qualifications
- City & Guilds gas qualification
Preparatory training is not a pre-requisite for assessment however the College provides the opportunity for candidates to undertake training prior to assessment.
Reassessment can be completed up to six months before the expiry date and candidates must have held the CCN1 previously.
If certifcation has expired by 12 months or more the initial assessment must be retaken.
Jobs and further study
After successful completion of this course, candidates can progress onto core gas appliances also on offer at Glasgow Clyde College.
Making an application
For courses starting in August, you can make up to two applications.
Applications are made to a course and a first choice of campus. If the course is oversubscribed at your first choice you will be automatically considered for alternative sites and may be made an offer without a further application.
