IOSH Working Safely is designed to provide knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace. It is aimed at all workers in all types of industry. Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, candidates are awarded a Working Safely certificate from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), an internationally recognised health and safety membership organisation.

What will I learn?

Working Safely course content includes:

  • An outline of occupational safety and health
  • Defining hazard and risk
  • Identifying common hazards
  • Improving safety performance

Working Safely has an interactive approach to give an understanding of why organisations should practice 'working safely' rather than focusing heavily on the legalities.

This course is categorised as part-time commercial training and is not eligible for any fee waiver or funding via the College. The student is liable for the payment of fees, unless an external training grant or employer support is confirmed at time of booking.

IOSH Working Safely is arranged by Glasgow Clyde College in collaboration with IOSH and delivered on campus by IOSH approved training providers. We can also offer delivery at company premises for group bookings of 6 or more. Get in touch to see how we can accommodate you.

Entry requirements (minimum)

Jobs and further study

By undertaking this course participants will have more understanding of the impact working safely can have on productivity, safety awareness and an appreciation of safety measures within the workplace.

Successful participants are awarded the internationally recognised IOSH Working Safely certificate.

Particpants could consider progressing onto IOSH Managing Safely which is also available at Glasgow Clyde College. This course provides the knowledge and skills required to manage health and safety issues in the workplace.
