Basic Sewing Beginners - Level 2 course is for those who are not a ‘beginner’, but not quite an ‘intermediate’ sewer! Introducing you to a selection of new and progressively harder sewing techniques, this course will challenge your growing sewing abilities and allow you to develop the skills you will need to be more confident in your sewing knowledge.

What will I learn?

This Basic Sewing Beginners - Level 2 class is a continuation of the Basic Sewing class, providing all the fun and creativity of the fundamental skills which each learner would need in Dressmaking, but accomplishing this in a ‘crafts’ environment instead, thus obtaining a faster understanding and production of a technique. The class provides an intermediate-paced program with more description and commentary accompanying each step of the construction of the tutorial/project. In each session, week-by-week sewing techniques and exercises will be learned within the first 4 weeks of the block, allowing each learner to build confidence in their progression in sewing and the skilled knowledge they will obtain.

These exercises undertaken will be the fundamental techniques used to construct the 2 projects within the final 4 weeks of the block. So, learners proactively practising these exercises, at home in their own time, will help develop their sewing abilities faster. Group demonstrations and individual tutorials will also be offered, alongside weekly handouts, when teaching exercises, which will help each learner to build on their understanding of finishing seams, learning about different methods of fastenings, creating decorative features/stitches and much more.

(This course is a ‘Basic Sewing’ class, with the projects created being a variety of ‘Home Décor’ Projects. These techniques learned are easily translatable into ‘Dressmaking / Fashion’ techniques. Laying the foundations for progression into Beginners Dressmaking.)
