This course is designed for operatives who need to safely isolate single-phase electrical supplies and equipment as part of their job role.
A separate course option is available for those who are qualified electricians or have equivalent electrical competence which covers both single and 3-phase isolation.
What will I learn?
The BPEC Safe Isolation of Low Voltage Electrical Installations training course is delivered in accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. There are both theoretical and practical assessments.

A separate course is available for those who are qualified electricians (or have equivalent electrical competence) which covers both single and 3-phase isolation @ £395.
Entry requirements (minimum)
Electricians course
- A formal qualification, such as SVQ Level 2 or 3 in electrical installation
Non Electricians course
- No formal qualifications are required but learners must be working in a role where this training is relevant and will support their duties.

Jobs and further study
This course enables delegates to meet the requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 in respect to safe isolation of electrical equipment and competence to prevent danger and injury.
The certificate of achievement is not a recognised qualification but demonstrates understanding of the safe isolation process where required in day to day roles and cotractual work.

For courses starting in August, you can make up to two applications.
Applications are made to a course and a first choice of campus. If the course is oversubscribed at your first choice you will be automatically considered for alternative sites and may be made an offer without a further application.
