What will I learn?

The City & Guilds 2391-52 Combined Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection and Testing qualification is for practising electricians who want to expand their skills and knowledge and continue their professional development. It provides specialist knowledge and skills, including appropriate legislation, inspection and testing techniques, completing and issuing certificates or reports and understanding of results and measurements.

This course is not suitable for those who are new to the electrotechnical industry.

Delegates enrolling on this course will achieve a greater understanding of initial verification and periodic inspection & testing in both new and older properties in the UK; domestic, commercial and industrial aspects are covered.

The course is delivered in line with BS7671:2022 Wiring Regulations (18th Edition Amendment 2). There are extensive updates and changes from the 17th to the 18th Edition therefore all candidates must have the 18th edition of the BS7671 Wiring Regulations to undertake this course.

The assessment consists of 3 parts:

  • An online multiple-choice test
  • A written exam
  • A practical assessment

The assessment details and arrangements are confirmed during the course and may require additional attendance out with the course start and end date.

A basic level of IT skills is beneficial to candidates due to student account set-up and the online assessment which is undertaken on a PC or laptop (provided by the College). If you require support with IT please let us know at the time of booking.

As this course is categorised as part-time commercial training, it is not eligible for any fee waiver or funding via the College. The student is liable for the payment of fees, unless an external training grant or employer support is confirmed at time of booking.
