This British Sign Language (BSL) - Level 2 course helps you build confidence and fluency so you can communicate with D/deaf people in everyday situations. You’ll learn advanced vocabulary, grammar and presentation skills, while exploring Deaf culture and history in the UK.

If you’ve completed Level 1, this is your next step towards Level 3 and exciting career opportunities in interpreting, education, healthcare or media.

What will I learn?

This is an intensive course designed to help you progress quickly and build confidence in using BSL.

  • Grow your BSL vocabulary and improve fluency.
  • Learn grammar, syntax and non-manual features.
  • Develop questioning and answering structures.
  • Prepare and deliver confident BSL presentations.
  • Understand and interpret complex signed content.
  • Explore Deaf history and culture in the UK.

You’ll be assessed through presentations and conversations in BSL. Completing Level 2 opens doors to Level 3 and future roles such as Communication Support Worker, interpreter, carer or educator.

Important: At least one class will take place on a Saturday at our Langside campus.
