Whether you already have a business idea, run a small business, or simply want to learn how to create and manage your own website, this relaxed and practical workshop will help you get started with confidence.

What will I learn?

Delivered across four friendly sessions, this Website Development Workshop covers how websites actually work, how to plan and structure your content, and how to create a professional online presence without needing advanced technical skills.

The focus is on helping you understand the process, make informed choices, and feel confident being in control of your own website.

You don’t need any previous experience, this course is designed for beginners and non-technical users who want straightforward advice without the jargon. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a clear plan for building and managing a website that works for you and your business.

Session 1: Getting Started Online
You will cover what makes up a website, how domains and hosting work, and what you actually need to get started.

Session 2: Planning Your Website
You will learn how to structure your site, plan pages and content, and create a website that is clear, useful, and easy for customers to navigate.

Session 3: Content, Visibility & Building Confidence
You will explore simple ways to write effective website content, improve visibility on Google, and understand the tools available for building your site.

Session 4: Launching, Managing & Growing Your Site
You will learn how to keep your website updated, secure, and working for your business long-term, with practical tips and a simple action plan moving forward.

This course is split into four 3-hours sessions and will be delivered at Langside Campus. Session dates are Wednesdays, 20 and 27 January and 3 and 10 February 2027, 6-9pm.

All materials are supplied by the college.
