This Japanese for Beginners (Level 2) course covers simple words and everyday phrases that can be used in basic conversations including expressing your favourite food and talking about your home.
You will learn the fundamental rules of the language step by step and practice using them in real life situations.
You should already have a basic knowledge of Hiragana and Japanese.
This course includes practice of Katakana and Kanji.
What will I learn?
This course builds upon foundation skills with continued emphasis on practical communication through listening and speaking. It also offers a deeper dive into grammar and vocabulary, and cultural context through the course components.
Students will be required to purchase a Japanese textbook before attending the course - Marugoto : Japanese Language and Culture. Starter A1 Rikai. Coursebook for Communicative Language Competences. This textbook provides content at the A1 level of the JF Standard for Japanese Language education and CEFR (European Framework of Reference for Languages) and can be purchased in store and via online bookshops.
Entry requirements (minimum)
You should already know Hiragana and have a basic knowledge of Japanese, or have completed a basic course such as our Japanese Beginners (Level 1).
