This summer baking course is fun and informative and will give you the skills and techniques to produce small bakes, cakes and sweet treats for the whole family to enjoy. Suitable for beginners, you'll learn a variety of skills and techniques for traditional bakes with a modern twist.
What will I learn?
In this Small Bakes summer course you'll learn how to make a range of bakes which may include the following:
- How to bake cakes (sponge, chocolate cake, coffee cake)
- Seasonal loafs (madeira, gingerbread, sultana)
- Vienesse biscuits
- Snowballs
- Brownies and biscuits
- Coconut tarts
- Scones
As well as some traditional sweet treets
- Scottish macaroons
- Peppermint creams
- Raspberry ruffle bars
Note: You will be advised what ingrediants and supplies to bring before each class. Please note the above list of bakes is not exhaustive.
You'll be taught by Maggie who has over 30 years industry experience in craft baking and cake decoration. Maggie is an award winning baker and also a Gold Medallist Salon Culinaire winner for the UK and Ireland.
