College wins at Glasgow Business Awards

Glasgow Clyde College staff with awards

Glasgow Clyde College enjoyed outstanding success at last night’s 2026 Glasgow Business Awards, winning The Glasgow Business Award for Community Wealth Building and receiving a commendation for Sustainable Development. These awards recognise two areas that sit at the heart of our strategy: creating opportunity through learning and building a more sustainable future for the communities we serve.

The Community Wealth Building award recognises how the College uses education, partnerships and its position as an anchor institution to generate lasting social and economic benefit. Our entry highlighted work including the Clyde Community Hubs, CLIC Innovation Project, Launchpad Entrepreneurship Hub and employer partnerships that create pathways into employment, support local businesses and strengthen communities across Glasgow.

The Sustainable Development commendation recognised our innovative off-grid, net zero classroom at Cardonald Campus. The classroom generates renewable energy through solar and wind technologies, while providing a live learning environment in which students and apprentices develop the practical skills required to support Scotland’s transition to a low-carbon economy. More than 750 learners have already benefited from hands-on experience with live renewable energy systems.

This double recognition belongs to our whole College community. It reflects the imagination, expertise and dedication of colleagues who continually find new ways to improve lives, support employers and create opportunity through learning.

These achievements reflect the values, ambition and commitment that colleagues demonstrate every day. Together, we are transforming lives, strengthening communities and ensuring Glasgow Clyde College continues to make a positive difference across the city and beyond.
