Tree planting at Langside Campus
A project between our student-led Sustainability Group and horticulture students saw three apple trees being planted at our Langside Campus this week. The apple trees were donated to the college as part of our partnership with Coffee Conscience, who plant community orchards around Scotland. An average fully gown apple tree will yield up to 250kg of apples per annum, and 36 apple trees can absorb 10-20 tonnes of carbon per annum.
Our Horticulture students will continue to care for the trees, helping our campuses to be a little more sustainable every day.
