Glasgow Clyde partners with NHS to deliver assessor training
Glasgow Clyde College has successfully partnered with the NHS delivering a specialist training programme aimed at improving diabetic eye screening services across Scotland. This collaborative initiative focused on training a dedicated cohort of assessors and quality assurers to support the delivery of the Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners to NHS staff in all Scottish regions.
The programme, which commenced last year, plays a vital role in strengthening the workforce responsible for diabetic eye screening, a critical service in the early detection and prevention of sight-threatening complications in people living with diabetes. By equipping NHS staff with advanced skills and qualifications, the initiative ensures consistent, high-quality screening standards across the country.
To date, several assessors and verifiers have successfully graduated from the programme, with more expected to achieve their qualifications in the coming months. This milestone reflects the commitment of both Glasgow Clyde College and the NHS to enhancing patient care through professional development and collaborative learning.
