Students visit new Barrowfield Training Centre

Barrowfield 2

Celebrating a 10-year partnership with Celtic Soccer Academy, Glasgow Clyde College continues to provide exceptional learning opportunities for students on our NQ Football Performance and Coaching and HND Football programmes.

At the newly opened Barrowfield Training Centre, students observed sessions from the junior academy and experienced the full coaching process — from planning and delivery to review. Topics included training methods, coaching styles, planning and organisation, and the use of varied coaching interventions.

A big thank you to Sports Lecturer Shaun Gallager for leading the visit and working closely with Celtic Soccer Academy.

Students also had the opportunity to take part in a Q&A session with Kirsty Cunningham, Domestic Soccer Academy Manager, and Willie McNab, Head of the Children’s Programme, as well as members of the Junior Academy coaching staff. Tom Mckay Academy Goalkeeping Coach.

This long-standing collaboration continues to enhance our programmes, offering students real-world insights and practical experience. At Glasgow Clyde College, we’re proud to deliver a truly unique course that develops the next generation of football coaches through a blend of academic study and hands-on learning.
