Want to take your millinery skills to the next level?

Millinery Skills: Winter Hats, Headpieces and Trims is for students who have attended any other previous classes or those who have a little millinery experience and are keen to learn new skills.

You will have time to complete at least one finished hat or headpiece and six trims.

What will I learn?

The Millinery Skills: Winter Hats, Headpieces & Trims will allow you to experiment with a range of millinery techniques through a series of demonstrations and workshops, where you will be encouraged to explore both traditional and non-traditional uses of millinery materials such as felt, leather, tweed, velvet, and thermoformable plastics.

You will explore creative ways to make velvet flowers, tweed trims, curl felt brims, Petersham ribbon trims and thermoformable plastic flowers to name a few.

There will also be the opportunity to design and create an entry for The Worshipful Company of Felt Makers of London Design Awards 2026.

The course will be taught by Shona Crozer, a milliner with over 17 years' experience. She has been the millinery lecturer at Glasgow Clyde College for over 7 years.
