This course is designed for those already working in a social care setting who wish to gain a formal qualification. Whether you're in adult care, childcare, additional support needs (ASN) education, or residential childcare, this course blends practical experience with theoretical learning to support your professional development.

What will I learn?

Throughout this course, you will gain a deep understanding of the values and principles of social care, learning how to integrate these with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge needed in professional settings.

  • 4 mandatory core taught unit credits

  • 1 Graded Unit credit

  • 1 mandatory option unit credit

  • 3 selected optional unit credits

  • 3 mandatory work-based vocational SVQ units at SCQF Level 7

You’ll also develop key professional skills such as:
