Pollok House is hosting a Valuation day on Sunday 19 October from 11am-5pm. Experts from Lyon & Turnbull will be on hand to provide valuations of your family heirlooms and collectables.
There will also be entertainment, period costumes, displays of traditional skills, kids’ activities and much more.
All money raised from the day will go towards supporting the Trust’s educational work at Pollok House. This includes work in partnership with the College's Fashion and Textiles department.
Jacqueline Farrell, Head of School Fashion, Textiles and Jewellery comments, "The students have been working over the last couple of years creating costume collections with Pollok House. So far, Edwardian and Victorian era costumes have been covered. If we can raise the funds to buy period quality fabrics then we are all set to tackle Regency costumes this year. Aileen Dunne, who has led the project along with Kate Costello has set the student challenges in making accurate representations with full attention to detail from undergarments out."
"The results are spectacular, the students learn so much and it's been great to see the guides and visitors to the house respond so positively to all the hard work. The funds raised on the 19th will allow the collaboration to continue. We need as many visitors as possible to go along, enjoy the day in a glorious setting and hopefully raise lots of funds!"
