HND Sound Production

The Higher National Diploma (HND) in Sound Production is a 2 year course, designed to develop the skills, knowledge and experience that are necessary to work within the current field of audio engineering. As part of the course, students will complete a portfolio of work demonstrating their technical skills and creativity. You will learn from current industry professionals and will study at a commercial recording studio as well as in the class-room.

  • Sound Production: Graded Unit 2
  • Sound Production: Management Skills & Legal Issues
  • Sound Production Practice 2
  • Sound Production Theory 2
  • Sound Reinforcement 2

Entry requirements (minimum)

  • 3 Higher Grades (preferably but not essentially from Music, Computing, Maths or Physics)
  • NPA in Sound Production plus 2 Higher Grades
  • Successful completion of NC Sound Production at SQCF level 6
  • Applications are also invited from those without formal qualifications but who have relative experience in the field of Sound Production
  • An interview may be required for this course
  • For those holding a relevant HNC it may be possible to access Year 2 of the HND.  Please contact the Faculty directly.
