Glasgow Clyde College students help fellow students and Credit Union customers to save money

A group of Glasgow Clyde College students on the 'Moving Onto Work' course at Cardonald Campus have produced a money-saving advice booklet that has been distributed to Credit Union organisations around Glasgow.
The booklet is now stocked at Greater Govan Credit Union (Burleigh Street), Penilee Credit Union (Paisley Road West), and Pollok Credit Union (Silverburn Shopping Centre).

Iain Jenkins, senior lecturer at Glasgow Clyde College, led the project on the money-saving advice booklet and was delighted with the response from the students. He said: “The students have been really engaged and have worked hard to produce a booklet designed to be accessible and professional.

“They have all had really strong opinions on how the project should be done and have increased their own knowledge by working on it.

“We conducted a couple of in-class experiments with money-lending online services and saw first-hand the dangers to which those services can lead. The students are aware of the implication of borrowing money and having to pay it back, and they are better-informed about money in general.”

Well done to all the students involved.
