Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (DJCAD) held an Open Day at our Cardonald Campus last week. Glasgow Clyde College has a long established relationship with DJCAD, and over 80 students on our art and design courses progressed to study across many disciplines at DJCAD in 2014.
Specialist staff were on hand over 2 days to meet with Glasgow Clyde College students, along with teachers and pupils from local secondary schools who were also invited to attend. Examples of work from current DJCAD students were displayed, and some former Glasgow Clyde College students who are now studying at DJCAD also attended to share their experiences.
Examples of first year admission level portfolios for DJCAD were available to be viewed by our current Portfolio students, to highlight the standard expected, and presentations were also made to our HNC/HND students about the opportunities available for progression to 2nd and 3rd year degree courses.
Tours of our Portfolio Preparation studios also took place so visitors were also able to see the excellent quality of the facilities at the college. 98% of students on our Portfolio Preparation course last year received at least one offer of a place at Art School or university, with many students receiving more than one offer.
"All the hard work was worth it and I would really recommend this course to anyone who is thinking about studying a Portfolio Preparation course." Claudia Veneroni, Portfolio Preparation Graduate 2014
