Project Search - Renfrewshire Council

Work-based course

Glasgow Clyde College works in partnership with Renfrewshire Council to deliver Project Search - a course designed for students with learning disabilities, who wish to increase their employment opportunities.

Project Search provides students the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience by offering a number of work placements called rotations. Rotations may include: catering, domestic, administration, environmental, and others as appropriate. Students will also develop skills that will help them gain employment such as CV writing, interview techniques and working with others.

The course is based at Renfrewshire Council where students will carry out their rotations and also make use of an allocated classroom.

The course will run from August to June, five days a week, Monday to Friday

Students are supported throughout the course by a college lecturer, a job coach and council staff.

All students have a Personal Learning and Support Plan to enable each student’s learning to be tailored to suit their needs and goals. All students receive personalised guidance and support at regular meetings.

Students can apply for financial help in the form of a bursary.
