NC Art and Design: Portfolio - Level 6

This portfolio programme has been designed to help you develop your own art practice, giving you experience in both fine art and design. Building on your previous experience, we will deliver projects that will extend your skills base allowing you to enhance your creative practice so that you will be able to make an informed career choice.

Course content

Working in purpose build studios with experienced staff who will nurture your progress, you will cover subjects such as analytical drawing, life drawing, painting, printmaking, 3D design, sculpture, digital design, 2D design and animation.

Projects are delivered in an integrated manner enabling you to develop transferable skills and to underpin good working practices. Throughout the projects you will focus on both figurative and abstract methods of working combining both traditional and new media. Students are introduced to the work of other artists through gallery visits and research which is embedded into the programme of study. As your course progresses you will have the confidence to work more independently and your portfolio will begin to reflect your personal ideas and media preferences.
