LECTURER – PAINTING AND DECORATING (0.5 FTE) FIXED TERM UNTIL AUGUST 2020

The Faculty of Engineering, Computing, and the Built Environment requires dynamic and skilled individuals to deliver courses to a diverse range of students in the field of painting and decorating. You will be experienced, with recognised trade qualifications and an interest in the training and education of apprentices.

You will prepare and deliver teaching materials and work with others to develop new approaches to teaching, making optimum use of learning technologies. You will work closely with Senior Lecturers and the Head of Curriculum to provide high quality learning and assessment opportunities that will enhance learning and teaching with a strong learner focus within the School of Construction.

Salary: £32,000 - £41,526 per annum (pro rata)

ASSESSSOR – PAINTING AND DECORATING (0.5 FTE) FIXED TERM UNTIL AUGUST 2020

Having extensive knowledge and occupational competence in the field of Painting and Decorating with an understanding of SVQs, the successful applicant will monitor candidate progress, maintain attendance and assessment records and ensure appropriate communication with candidate’s line management. Applicants will be qualified with a relevant Advance Craft or equivalent (SCQF Level 7), as well as an SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent). It would be desirable that the successful applicant holds an appropriate Assessor’s Award.

You will be responsible for generating contacts within your own subject area, therefore excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to relate well to a range of candidates and employers. In turn, the College provides generous benefits such as 30 days’ annual leave plus 14 days’ public holidays (pro rata), flexible working, pension scheme and an array of training and development opportunities.
