Vacancies for College Board of Management Members

Do you have enthusiasm and an enquiring mind?

Do you want to help people become the best that they can be?

Do you want to extend your network and enhance your leadership skills?

If you answered 'Yes' to any of these questions then Glasgow Clyde College Board of Management are keen to hear from you.  The College has an exciting opportunity for three people to join its Board of Management.  Many of us don’t realise how much we have to offer, so even if you are really not sure the boardroom is for you, please contact us and discuss the role of the Board Member and what contribution you could make.

Glasgow Clyde College has an excellent reputation for teaching quality.  Our vision is to contribute to the prosperity and well-being of Scotland through exceptional achievement.  We employ more than 1,000 staff and have a student population of over 21,000 enrolments and in excess of 7,000 full time students.

The Board of Management provides leadership and strategic direction for the College and is responsible for its governance.  The college is looking for a wide range of skills and experiences - you may never have considered a board position before, but your experience may be invaluable.  Given our commitment to diversity, we are particularly keen to have applications from women, the ethnic minority community and disabled people.

Joining the Board of Management offers a great opportunity to utilise your skills to help shape the direction and focus of this College over the coming years. We are looking for people with commitment and enthusiasm, who share our ambition of serving our community, putting students first, and working with integrity and respect.

In return, we offer induction, training and support for each Board member.  Board members will broaden their own knowledge and experience and be an integral part of supporting the future of our younger people.

The Board meets five times per year, and members will also be expected to join a Board Committee meeting four times per year. Meetings are normally held in the early evening (usually Wednesdays).

Board members serve on a voluntary basis however reasonable out-of-pocket expenses for Board business will be reimbursed.

We are hosting a Board Member Recruitment Event on Monday 10 June 5.30pm – 7.30pm.  The event is free and spaces can be booked at   https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/glasgow-clyde-college-board-member-recruitment-event-tickets-61872187378
