The focus of the course is to produce a concept garment, while giving you an insight into the world of fashion and textiles.

Course description (overview):
Working with two specialist staff this combined Textiles Techniques and printed textiles course will allow you to explore a wealth of techniques which will equip you with a hybrid of skills you to a hybrid of skills to create a collection of final fabric samples.
You will gain an SQA HN certificate in Textile Techniques: An Introduction F18M34
Using specialist equipment skills gained will include:
- Sketchbook work
- Design development
- Colour exploration
- Hand embroidery
- Fabric manipulation
- Screen printing
- Heat transfer printing
- Domestic sewing machine skills
This class will be taught by two tutors with a wealth of experience in the fashion and design industry, as well as experience of running a textile business and a decade of teaching experience.

Entry requirements (minimum)
This course is ideal for those with an interest in printed textile design and fabric manipulation. It will allow beginners with little or no experience to try out a variety of textile techniques for surface design and embellishment. It is also possible to progress onto full – time HND Textiles programme from this course.(Subject to a selection process.)
