The Woodcraft - Take Home Projects course at Glasgow Clyde College will help you to build a foundational knowledge of working with and fashioning your own items out of wood. The basic skills learned here will be transferable to various aspects of woodwork, and can serve as an entry to more advanced training in the field.
What will I learn?
This woodwork course will show you how to create your own unique small project. You will learn traditional, dovetails and mortise & tenon joints. You will learn how to use basic hand and power tools safely, as well as some of the woodwork machines.
You will work on a small woodwork project that you will need to take home each week due to storage limitations.
The price of the course includes the cost of all materials used.
If you have no previous experience of working with wood or using hand tools we recommend that you complete the DIY at Home course first. This will help you to get a basic understanding of the skills involved and will allow you to get more out of the woodcraft course. However, that is not a requirement.
