Glasgow Clyde College is now offering a one-day update course to reflect the changes within amendment 2 of the wiring regulations. This course is suitable only for those who hold the BS7671:2018 (18th Edition). Those with the 17th Edition or no wiring regulations certificate should enrol onto a full 18th Edition course.
NEXT UPDATE - FRIDAY 21 APRIL 2023
What will I learn?
This is classrom based for those who already hold the 18th Edition but require amendment 2 published March 2022, with a 2 hour online assessment at the end of the course.
Most of the changes are relevant to new types of technology such as low carbon technologies and energy efficient installations. The regulations will reflect the changes to ensure installations are safe, efficient, useful, able to meet developing standards and that consideration is given to electrical industry operatations, the specific roles of electrical engineers and how quickly technology changes.
Significant changes are now incorporated within a new Part 8 of BS7671:2022 providing learners with a new Chapter 82 that addresses - Prosumers Low Voltage electrical installations, removal of the risk assessment method for omitting additional RCD protection on socket outlets and new foundation earthing requirements.
A brown Wiring Regulations text book replaces the original 18th Edition Wiring Regulations text book which was blue.
