National 5 Biology

What will I learn?

This National 5 Biology course will be delivered on a blended learning basis, with 50% of classes online. Full electronic course notes and practical equipment for labs will be provided.

Section 1: Cell biology
The key areas covered are:

• Cell structure
• Transport across cell membranes
• DNA and the production of proteins
• Proteins
• Ggenetic engineering
• Respiration

Section 2: Multicellular organisms:
The key areas covered are:

• Producing new cells
  Control and communication
• Reproduction
• Variation and inheritance
• Transport systems — plants
• Transport systems — animals
• Absorption of materials

Section 3: Life on Earth:

The key areas covered are:

• Ecosystems
• Distribution of organisms
• Photosynthesis
• Energy in ecosystems
• Food production
• Evolution of species

• Ensure you meet the entry requirements
• Pay the full fee (£460) or a deposit (£250)

2. Pay the deposit of £250 online using discount code DEPOSIT
3. After the deposit payment, you will have a balance of £210 to pay. This balance will be paid in instalments of £105 over the 2 subsequent months following your deposit payment. (payment required by the 31st of the month)
4. Follow the instructions within your joining instructions to make your balance payments.
5. There are no funding options or fee waivers available for this course.
6. If you choose to make only a deposit payment, you agree to make all outstanding balances as directed.
