The BPEC Legionella Risk Assessment is a one day commercial training and assessment course aimed at experienced plumbing and heating operatives in accordance with the requirements of the revised Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) This course provides operative with the knowledge and skills to undertake the water disinfection process.

What will I learn?

The BPEC Legionella Risk Assessment is a one day commercial training and assessment course aimed at experienced plumbing and heating operatives in accordance with the requirements of the revised Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) This course provides operative with the knowledge and skills to undertake the water disinfection process.

  • Detailed overview of legislation in the control of Legionnaire’s disease and water disinfection
  • Practical guidance on carrying out a risk assessment and how to rectify identified risks or problems

Cost £200 

Entry requirements (minimum)

Candidates MUST provide all of the following:

  • Water Byelaws 2014 Scotland certificate;
  • Evidence of experience in the plumbing/heating industry; 
  • Certificate SVQ Level 2/3 plumbing, heating and ventilating (domestic installation) or equivalent earlier certification;

*Verification must be provided prior to booking and brought to the training for submission in the assessment pack. 

Jobs and further study

On completion and certification operatives will have the knowledge and skills to undertake the water disinfection process. 

Making an application

For courses starting in August, you can make up to two applications.

Applications are made to a course and a first choice of campus. If the course is oversubscribed at your first choice you will be automatically considered for alternative sites and may be made an offer without a further application.
