NQ Software Development Fundamentals - Level 6 (January)
This Software Development Fundamentals course introduces a range of skills relating to software development and design, programming and web development. The course will allow you to develop skills that are in demand by industry. You will develop problem solving and other employability skills. This will include development of academic skills that will help prepare you for progression to further study.
The course will be delivered using software that is currently used in industry such as C#, Java and Python, HTML and CSS.
Although the focus is primarily on software development, you will also cover a range of generic computing skills.

Please note that due to the impact of COVID-19, this course will be delivered via a blended learning approach - which may include limited face-to-face learning on campus combined with remote learning off-campus and digital learning approaches. If and when delivery is taking place on-campus, there will be reduced student numbers and physical distancing measures in place. If you require any support in learning digitally please inform the Course Leader or Student Support team.
Entry requirements (minimum)
- The minimum entry requirements are two National 5s, preferably in English and Maths or another academic subject, or equivalent.
- Relevant industrial experience
- Applicants who do not meet the entry minimum entry requirements may also be considered if they have industry or other experience.

On successful completion of this course you can apply for the next level of study in Computing starting in August, NC Web Development, NC Software Development or possibly HNC/D
