Hammermen success for Engineering students

Katie Lyon Langside Hammermen Winner Prince Philip Prize winner

Engineering students from Anniesland and Langside campuses are celebrating after their success at the recent Hammermen Awards, held at the Trades House of Glasgow.

The Incorporation of Hammermen of Glasgow present Hammermen Awards annually to promising young engineers.

Two Glasgow Clyde College students have been selected as winners.

Katie Lyon, who is employed by Jacobs Engineering and is studying NC Engineering at Langside Campus, has won the Hammermen Award. Katie is progressing to studying BEng Computer Aided Mechanical Engineering at Glasgow Caledonian University.

Katie has also recently been awarded the prestigious Prince Philip Award for engineering which will be presented at a ceremony in November.

Gary McNelis, studying HNC Engineering Systems at Anniesland Campus, also won the Hammermen Award.

Two runner-up awards have also been made to Corey Craig (Anniesland campus) and Darren Sheppard (Langside).
