Students celebrate Moving On

Moving On to work in the Service Sector

Additional Support for Learning students, their families, friends and tutors, were in celebratory spirits recently, when the success, attainment and achievements of students completing their Moving onto Work and Moving onto Independence courses were honoured at an awards ceremony at Cardonald campus.

Showcasing Glasgow Clyde College's exceptional links with industry and employers were stories of the work experience placements undertaken by the students. Personal Development and Subject Tutors proudly described the placements the students had with a range of local employers including Sainsburys and other retail organisations, care services, administration organisations and the BBC.

The tutors spoke about the enterprise projects, fundraising work and activities that happened as a result of the students’ hard work and commitment to their course. The students themselves (pictured above) spoke of the value and impact their Glasgow Clyde experience has had upon them and how this has helped them move onto work and independence.

Many of the students attending the award event are now progressing into employment and we wish them all the best in the future.
