This week, students from the Supported Learning section were rewarded for their hard work on the College radio station, GCR, by winning a Common Knowledge learner award for 'Best Teamwork'. The students produce and host a show on the station every Friday called the 'Friday Mixture'.
Last week, the students also staged a live radio show in the lecture theatre at the Cardonald Campus. The purpose of the event was to showcase the work done by the students on GCR, on the subjects of internet safety and safe social networking.
On the day, the students premiered a film about their weekly Introduction to Radio class. The video also featured some general thoughts about friendship and some fun clips from their Friday Mixture radio show on GCR.
The film was produced in conjunction with Common Knowledge, a Glasgow-based charity that offers innovative learning, peer education, drama and safe social networking.
A big thanks is due to the students' lecturer and radio professional, Brian Woolfson. Brain works with the students to ensure the show is such a huge success.
Well done to everyone involved!
