GCC student making waves on the front pages

Congratulations to Glasgow Clyde College HND journalism student, Peter Cassidy, for his front page splash in today’s Daily Record!

Peter’s exclusive story revealed two young sisters who were arrested last September after peacefully protesting in the wake of the referendum, will not be prosecuted. Prosecutors have dropped the charges against the girls following a public petition signed by 10,000 people.

Peter's piece has already been shared more than 2,300 times on social media and was last night the lead story on the Daily Record website as well as today's second most-read news story.

First year student Peter has already had several pieces of work published in the Daily Record, via GCC journalism students’ online platform, The Student Record.

His interview with Glasgow magician Ryan Davidson was the eighth most read story on the Daily Record website when it was published last week, with an incredible 10,000 hits in a day.

A massive well done to Peter. Keep up the good work!
