NC Acting and Performance

This course is designed to provide an introduction to acting and performance skills and should be seen as the first of three years of continuous training. It concentrates on the key skills of acting, voice, movement and production.

There is also technical work and Front of House training included in the course. Please note that during Production blocks, students will be expected to work additional hours out with the conventional college day.

Assessment is continuous with a mixture of practical and theoretical assessments. There is no final examination.

Previous students have performed in a wide range of productions such as: Peter Pan; The Jungle Book; The Wizard of Oz; The Kitchen; Pentecost; Once in a Lifetime.

Richard Rankin has appeared in The Syndicate (BBC1), The Crimson Field (BBC1), Silent Witness (BBC1), Burnistoun (BBC Scotland), From Darkness (BBC1), American Odyssey (NBC), The Black Watch (The National Theatre of Scotland).

For courses starting in August 2017, you can make up to two applications.

Applications are made to a course and a first choice of campus. If the course is oversubscribed at your first choice you will be automatically considered for alternative sites and may be made an offer without a further application.
