NC Sound Production

NC Sound Production is at SQCF level 6 and is designed to lead directly to HNC/D Sound Production. Successful completion of the course leads to the group award of NC Sound Production. You will learn via the class-room and a commercial recording studio as well as visits to industry locations for on site tours and experience.

  • Appreciation of Music
  • Creative Project
  • Digital Media: Audio Editing
  • Music: An Introduction to the UK Music Industry
  • Music: MIDI Sequencing
  • Sound Engineering and Production
  • Sound: Understanding the Signal Path

There will also be a further 7 optional units including Music Technical Support, Making a Radio Programme and Sound Reinforcement.

Entry requirements (minimum)

 

  • 4 preferably Credit Standard Grades (preferably from Music, Computing, Maths, English or Physics)
  • 4 National 5 passes
  • NPA in Sound Production
  • Successful completion of NQ Sound Production at SQCF level 5
  • Applications are also invited from those without formal qualifications but who have relative experience in the field of Sound Production
  • All applicants will be invited to attend an interview

For courses starting in August 2017, you can make up to two applications.

Applications are made to a course and a first choice of campus. If the course is oversubscribed at your first choice you will be automatically considered for alternative sites and may be made an offer without a further application.
