NC Electrical Engineering - Level 5 (Scottish Power)

This electrical engineering course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to join Scottish Power as an apprentice electrician.

Glasgow Clyde College has a longstanding relationship with Scottish Power for delivering this programme that offers you an Intermediate 2-level qualification and industry training in electrical engineering.

If you are highly motivated, have a willingness to learn and have a positive attitude, this course could be ideal for you.

You will receive a monthly allowance of £200 as a contribution towards travel and any course expenses.

  • Health and Safety at Work (appraisal gaining an ESC Card)

  • Entry requirements (minimum)

    • two Standard Grades Band 3 or above or Intermediate 2s or National 5s in Maths and in English or a Science subject
    • this programme is designed for school leavers aged 16 to 19-year-olds
    • we will consider your application if you have a Standard Grade band 3 or above or Intermediate 2 in a technical craft skill such as metalwork, woodwork or fabrication but not a Standard Grade (band 3 or above) or an Intermediate 2 in Physics.

    • Modern Apprenticeship in Electrical Installation (SVQ Level 3)
    • HNC Electrical Engineering (HNC course designed for electricians who wish to further their understanding and prospects within the industry).
