NC Construction: Built Environment

This course is for students who wish to develop knowledge, understanding and skills relevant to the built environment sector of the construction industry. It is ideal for those who desire to work in this sector.
This course is predominantly theory-based but will have a small practical element.

  • Construction Technology: Groundworks, Substructure and Superstructure
  • Building Services
  • Health & Safety
  • Construction Materials
  • Construction Site Surveying: An Introduction
  • Building Environment Project 

Entry requirements (minimum)

  • 1 Standard Grade at credit level or National 5 level in Maths or English, 1 Standard Grade at credit or National 5 level in Craft and Design or Product Design, or 
  • An Intermediate 2 in a practical subject or NPA Construction or equivalent qualification at SCQF level 5, or 
  • Applications are also invited from those without formal qualifications, but have relevant life and/or work experience.

Successful completion of this course will allow progression onto the HNC Construction programmes.

Applications are made to a course and a first choice of campus. If the course is oversubscribed at your first choice you will be automatically considered for alternative sites and may be made an offer without a further application.
