Clyde Kitchen Plus – An Introduction to Hospitality and Events

This 16 week programme is designed for 16 – 24 year olds who are interested in a career in Hospitality or Events. 

The programme will develop the essentials skills required to successfully apply and progress onto a MA or NC/NQ college programme is this area.

This is a practical programme with the majority of learning being delivered in a training kitchen and busy college café. 

A training allowance is available for travel and lunch.

Course content

Along with SQA units in Core Skills, Communications and Numeracy you will work towards units in event management, enterprise activity through hospitality, café skills, food hygiene, food preparation and customer service.

  • Organisational Skills for Cookery
  • Cookery Skills, Techniques and Processes
  • Café/Customer Service
  • Assist with an Event
  • Enterprise
  • REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene 

Entry requirements (minimum)

You must be interested in a career in Hospitality or Events. There are no formal entry requirements but candidates must attend an interview to assess their suitability for the programme.

Applications are made to a course and a first choice of campus. If the course is oversubscribed at your first choice you will be automatically considered for alternative sites and may be made an offer without a further application.
