Introduction to Sport and Fitness - Level 4 (January 2018)

This course is designed to give students an introductory experience in both sport and fitness. It provides a taste of the underpinning knowledge and skills required to progress onto a variety of courses from Level 5 to Level 7 (depending on qualifications).

Course content

Units may include:

  • Personal Learning Support Plan (PLSP)
  • Sports Officiating
  • Sporting Activity - This may include games and sports such as: Association Football, Basketball, Short Tennis and Swimming
  • Human Physiology in Development of Performance
  • Exercise and Fitness: An Introduction
  • Exercise and Fitness: Circuits
  • Exercise and Fitness: Resistance Training
  • Working with Others
  • Communication Intermediate 1
  • Physical Education: An Activity Approach
  • Fitness for the Army
  • Aqautics
  • Personal Wellbeing


Entry requirements (minimum)

  • Experience of participating in Sport and Fitness regularly
  • Minimum of 2 references required
